Callaghan Across America Callaghan has set herself quite a challenge for May 2013. Starting in Boston on May 3rd she will work her way across the USA playing a house show each night as she journeys from sea-to-shining-sea! The tour’s called Callaghan Across America. After the Boston show, the tour will wind its way across the USA to reach Berkeley California by Sunday June 2nd. What the route will be between those two destinations will depend on who hosts a show! For music fans Callaghan Across America is an opportunity for you and your friends to hear Callaghan sing live in your living room! For Callaghan it’s an opportunity to play for existing fans and many new people in the wonderful atmosphere house concerts offer. Since moving to Atlanta from London in July 2010 Callaghan has been privileged to tour all over the USA playing in clubs and venues and making regular TV and Radio appearances in around 30 states. A real highlight of her time on the road has been playing house shows. More and more people are opening up their homes to live music and inviting their friends to hear artists they love. For listeners, house shows offer a relaxed and intimate way to hear live music. For independent artists like Callaghan they offer a fantastic way to reach new fans, make new friends and stay on the road making music. To celebrate house shows Callaghan has decided to take on this coast-to-coast challenge - we’ll see if house shows alone can take Callaghan Across America! Callaghan performing in your living room - How House Concerts Work... A private concert by Callaghan, in the comfort of your own home, for you and your invited friends. If this sounds appealing, you should consider booking Callaghan for a house concert. House concerts give the opportunity to really connect with the artist, see a performance up close, and maybe even request a song. As the host you get to create the atmosphere you want and can invite as many guests as you'd like (depending on the size of your living room!) Callaghan loves performing house concerts... "House concerts seem to be really growing at the moment. Since moving to the US I have done them more and more and really enjoy getting a chance to perform in that intimate setting. They're always really laid back and relaxed and getting to chat with the audience during the evening makes it feel like performing to a room of friends." You could enjoy a Callaghan show, on piano and guitar in your own living room. If you like the sound of hosting a house concert but have never done it before, here are a few of the basics: House concerts are usually… held indoors and on Thursdays to Sundays paid for by a donation per guest (for the performer) known to include light snacks, beverages or a pot-luck dinner attended by the host’s friends, neighbors, co-workers, and maybe a few fans of the artist very intimate - the audiences sit close and are attentive performed in 2, 40-minute sets with a 20 minute break Please note: House concerts are set up differently to private parties/events. Private events can be arranged for a negotiated fee.
